Christmas leftover sausage rolls

Ingredients

Ready rolled puff pastry (all-butter is the best)

Christmas dinner leftovers, cut into bite-size pieces

 Method

  1. Unroll the puff pastry onto a lined baking sheet.

  2. Add a layer of chopped up Christmas leftovers (pigs in blankets, bacon-wrapped prunes, cranberry sauce, sliced sprouts, cranberry relish, stuffing, turkey, chestnuts, bread sauce) down one third of the pastry.

  3. Add a sprinkle of chilli flakes and dried sage. Brush one margin of the pastry with milk or beaten egg. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal. Decorate with any leftover pastry pieces.

  4. Brush with beaten egg and add a sprinkle of fennel seeds and a pinch of sea salt.

  5. Bake in a preheated oven − 200C for 20-25 mins until golden brown. Serve while still warm.
