Who I Am

I’m a self-taught cook, and have loved cooking since my early teens (starting with bangers, Smash and baked beans for my siblings), and later taking the occasional course at Leith’s School of Food and Wine. I now develop recipes and create content for sustainable, high-quality products, as well as hosting the occasional supperclub. I’ve done internships (‘stages’) at NOPI and Ottolenghi Spitalfields, two of Yotam Ottolenghi’s restaurants in central London.

As well as my love of cooking, I was fascinated by the sea, and did a PhD in marine biology (hence my name, Dr Fish). I work in medical communications, and my first Instagram post was of a slice of pizza at a medical congress in Rome.

In 2018 I won the coveted Galvin Tarte Tatin Competition and my name has been added to the cup at Galvin La Chapelle (and I get free tarte tatin for life).

In 2021 I was highly commended for online food writing by the Guild of Food Writers (@thegfw), and am a member of the Guild.

I’m also a judge at the Great Taste Awards (@guildoffinefood).

The Corner Plot is the name of my supperclub, the first of which were held (for various charities) in our home, located on the corner of the plot in southwest London.
